Ginger Snaps is now three years old, we made it through the terrible twos! To be honest, I still think about ending this blog at least once a month, because as a naturally private and shy person, I haven’t completely gotten over the fear of putting myself out there. As much as I like to write, I never even kept a diary or journal my entire life, because I didn’t want people to be able to read my thoughts, and now for the past three years I’ve shared them with anyone who has internet access and happens to stumble by. It’s almost unbelievable to me.
One of the reasons I blog is to face that fear, but what really keeps me blogging is my love of Jiu-Jitsu. I just can’t seem to stop myself from writing about BJJ, I could actually write about it every single day (but then this blog would be even more of a waste of time and space than it already is! ;).
To me, blogging and Jiu-Jitsu have always been intertwined. I wrote my very first blog post ever (about Jiu-Jitsu, on The Jiu-Jitsu Fighter blog) the day before I started training Jiu-Jitsu.
There is no doubt in my mind that I would not be a blogger if not for Jiu-Jitsu, and all of the growing pains I’ve experienced because of both Jiu-Jitsu and blogging have been more than worthwhile. BJJ has given me so much, and my greatest hope with this blog is that somehow I can give a little something back.
I know I wouldn’t be able to keep doing Ginger Snaps if I didn’t think anyone wanted to read it, so you (yes you, every single person who is reading this right now) are a vital part of my journey. Thank you, dear readers, for giving me an audience with which to share my passion, and for helping me to grow.
